Q1 ACTIVITIES RECAP
The MHBA and its members have been actively engaged throughout the first quarter of 2024!
In this brief timeframe, we’ve provided our members with a multitude of benefits, including the Spring Parade of Homes and the Renovation Awards. Additionally, we’ve fostered essential connections through networking events, offered enriching professional development opportunities via educational seminars, and provided avenues for brand promotion through sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
Below is an overview of MHBA’s activities from January to March of 2024.
The Spring Parade of Homes in which ran from March 2nd to March 24th, welcomed an impressive turnout of Manitobans. With over 30k in attendance, the MHBA’s Parade of Homes remains Canada’s premier showcase of its kind. This spring, we proudly featured 132 new homes from 30 MHBA builders across 26 communities, offering a diverse and captivating array of options for attendees.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated builders and developers whose unwavering efforts contributed immensely to the success of the Parade.

The 2024 Renovation Awards will showcase 94 projects by 19 exceptional MHBA RenoMark Renovators. Renovator members participating in the awards program will enjoy various promotional benefits, including being featured in Home Décor & Renovations Magazine’s April/May and June/July issues, showcasing their work at MHBA’s “Ask a Renovator” booth at two consumer shows, and receiving spotlight on MHBA’s website and social media platforms.

Industry Nights – 1928 Eatery & Pub (January 23rd) & Trans Canada Brewing Co. (March 12th)
This year, the MHBA has scheduled four Industry Nights designed for members to network in a relaxed environment. The initial two events held at 1928 Eatery & Pub and Trans Canada Brewing Co., have already seen significant success, with already over 200 attendees to date. Industry Nights offer an excellent opportunity for members to unwind with peers and reconnect with industry contacts.

Curling FUNspiel (March 7th)
The MHBA’s Annual Curling FUNspiel took place at the Heather Curling Club on March 7, 2024, drawing members together for a day of camaraderie and friendly competition on the ice. Alongside vying for the esteemed “tournament champion” title, participants contended for fun awards such as Best Team Spirit, Best Team Costume, Rookie of the Year, and Most Valuable Player of the Year.
The event saw a remarkable turnout, with both seasoned veterans and newcomers eager to partake in the festivities. With 28 teams in attendance, the enthusiasm among our members continues to grow!

LEEP Builders: IDP Session (January 24th)
Along with CHBA, we hosted a comprehensive full day seminar delved into essential topics surrounding building codes and Integrated Design Process (IDP). The seminar featured two enlightening presentations focusing on IDP and codes, alongside an engaging interactive IDP simulated charrette.
Digital Marketing Webinar (February 14th and 15th)
The MHBA was thrilled to host a two-day webinar for members, offering an insightful overview of the fundamentals of digital marketing. Presented by PHBI, the Digital Marketing Workshop guided participants through key digital marketing channels such as Google Ads, SEO, and Meta Ads, providing valuable insights for crafting successful campaigns.
LEEP for Renovators: Mechanical (March 20th) and Envelopes (March 21st)
The MHBA hosted two half-day forums for renovators in which focused on design and decision support for forced-air mechanical systems, and high performance envelope retrofit system upgrades.
