COR® CERTIFICATION

All Manitoba Home Builders’ Association (MHBA) builder members are COR® certified.

Administered by the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM), the COR® program provides industry employers with an effective safety and health management system to reduce incidents and injuries along with associated human and financial costs. MHBA is the only Home Builder Association in Canada that requires its builder members to have the COR certification.

In order to achieve COR™ Certification, businesses must:

  • Complete the following four courses provided by CSAM: Principles of Safety Management, Safety Auditor Training, Leadership for Safety Excellence and Hazard Identification and Risk Control
  • With the information gained from the programs, companies must then develop a manual and implement a quality safety program.
  • Companies must submit a complete and successful company self-audit. In addition, the company must pass an internal audit by CSAM and an independent audit. Upon successful completion of the final independent audit, a COR® certificate is issued to the company.
  • This process ensures that each company’s health and safety program achieves appropriate results, and ensures you as a homeowner are assured of liability coverage, quality and peace of mind.
