What services do you offer?
We offer a variety of renovation services which include kitchen, bathroom, main
floor, full home and basement renovation projects.
Describe your team in 3 words.
Professional, Organized & Creative
How has the pandemic impacted your business and how have you adapted?
The pandemic has greatly affected our business in many ways. We took on
additional warehouse space to store materials that we now need to order &
secure up to 6 months ahead of time. There has been constant delays/
backorders on materials causing re selections which in turn are delaying our
projects. In addition, we’ve looked internally and reinvented our business from
the ground up so that we can serve our clients at the highest level.
What is your company’s greatest achievement?
We believe our greatest achievement is our company culture. We have such a
great team at Grindstone Renovations and we are consistently evolving &
growing as a company. We’ve always invested in our employees and we
encourage education within. Our morale is at an all time high and we are proud
of the company culture we have created.
What is your business goal for 2022?
In 2022 we have a quite a few goals we would like to achieve. Our top two
would be working towards exceeding our projected targets for the year &
looking within for better ways we can serve our clients with the best possible
renovation experience.
How long have you been a MHBA member & what type of membership?
We have been a MHBA member for 2.5 years and we have a renovator builder
membership.
Why did you decide to join the MHBA?
To further elevate our business and to engage with prospective clients through
the MHBA platform.
What is the best part about being a MHBA member?
The large database that our clients have access to and the exposure we
receive through your social media and website. The professional support we
receive within the renovation industry is also a plus.
What is your favourite MHBA event? Why?
Never been to one. Please suggest a fun one we can attend!
How has being a MHBA member benefited your business?
Clients having access to us through the member list and the education we have
been able to attain since we joined the MHBA.
What is your favourite project that your company has worked on? Or a favourite
service/product you carry?
Service – main floor or whole home renovations that include major changes the
structural elements that provide a fundamental shift in our clients lifestyle.
Project – Gull Harbour – this project was very unique as we had the overcome
many challenges given the location, while executing a full scale renovation on
an 100 + year old building.
What advice would you give to a business just starting in your industry?
Understand how to charge for your work properly so you can stay in business.
Don’t duck out when things get hard and stay true to your word.
Anything else you would like to share about your company?
We are a very creative & talented group of people. We have and always rise to
the occasion to do better. Collectively we strive for excellence.
