Annual Chair’s Reception (2023)
The Manitoba Home Builders’ Association hosted its Annual Chair’s Reception on November 15, 2023, at Niakwa Country Club. The event centered around the recognition of MHBA’s rich history, its esteemed past and present leadership, and the sense of camaraderie prevalent within the MHBA community. In attendance were distinguished guests, including MHBA’s Past Chairs, current and former Board members, members of the Winnipeg City Council — among them, Mayor Scott Gillingham — and numerous association members.
During the evening, the MHBA expressed gratitude to Jason Jaquet for his exemplary tenure as Chair of the MHBA Board of Directors over the past year. Jason exhibited exceptional leadership, particularly navigating the Parade Committee through the challenges posed by the global pandemic. The successful continuation of the Parade of Homes amid health restrictions and lockdowns was a significant accomplishment, and Jason played a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience of these events. Throughout the year, he represented the MHBA at both national meetings and local gatherings, effectively advocating for the association and the residential construction sector on a broader scale.
The role of Chairperson for the Board of Directors for the term 2023-2024 has been assumed by Spencer Curtis, who brings valuable experience to the position, having previously served as Chair in 2016-2017. The MHBA extends its appreciation to Spencer for his ongoing dedication and leadership within the association.
The MHBA’s Chair’s Reception once again proved to be another lovely evening filled with fantastic food and captivating music by the talented duo Andrew & Andrew. Attendees, comprising MHBA members, enjoyed the opportunity to engage with peers, establish new connections, and strengthen professional relationships.
