LEEP (TECHNICAL) – “LEEP IDP FOR CANADIAN HOMEBUILDERS: AN OVERVIEW (LEEP SESSION PART 1)

Presentation by Gary Proskiw, Proskiw Engineering/CHBA LEEP

High-performance, sustainable buildings require teamwork, 3rd-party verification, and complex coordination. The Integrated Design Process (IDP) is a collaborative approach to planning, design and project delivery that helps builders deliver cost-effective, low-energy load, low-carbon, healthy and resilient homes. IDP is a different way of thinking and working. It creates a project-specific team, from professionals who have traditionally worked as separate entities. LEEP IDP for Canadian Homebuilders uses NRCan Guides and Tools to inform decision-making for homes (NBC Part-9). This 1-hour Intro session will explain the context, show examples, and outline the structure of IDP: a better pathway to efficient, innovative buildings.

Presentation by Jessica McNabb , PHBI

The new home sales process is all about the buyer and knowing how to communicate throughout that process is essential for building a relationship with the buyer. Both buyer and seller must compromise and empathy and listening skills are crucial skills necessary for negotiations to succeed.

Learn how to keep your emotions in check to facilitate the negotiation process as well as how to handle objections during any negotiation. It is important to know who to negotiate with and when to walk away from a deal, recognizing the 4 red flags that signal a negotiation is not going well.
