This Tuesday, the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association is celebrating the best residential renovation projects in Manitoba through its annual RenoMark Renovation Awards. These annual awards showcase the best of the best renovation projects undertaken in our province over the past year. While the MHBA is not able to host its annual Renovation Awards reception in its traditional format, we are very excited to be able to share this year’s virtual awards event with everyone via the MHBA’s YouTube channel. Starting at 1 p.m. on Sept. 22, everyone is welcome to tune in and attend our virtual awards event and see which projects are this year’s award winners.

This year, entries are featured in seven different categories — Additions, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Whole House, Outdoor Structures and Basement. Each project nominated for the RenoMark Renovation Awards is a stunning display of what professional renovators can do in terms of updating and upgrading your home. We are featuring 69 different projects by 17 outstanding MHBA RenoMark renovators; renovators who follow the highest professional standards in Canada. These breathtaking local renovation projects can provide you with a great example of what could and should be done in your own home.

Projects done by Manitoba renovators have also been recognized as some of the best done in Canada this year. Harwood Design Builders from Winnipeg was nominated as a finalist for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association’s Awards for Housing Excellence in the “Kitchen — $70,000 to $100,000” category for one of the company’s amazing projects. Being recognized as having done one of the best renovations in Canada over the past year is a tremendous accomplishment and showcases the great work done by professional renovators right here at home.

Home renovations have been extremely popular this summer. Many of us love our neighbourhood and love our house, but we also need change. It seems everybody has something they have been longing to improve in their home. Bathrooms and kitchens are being updated and modernized for comfort and practicality. Decks and renovations to outdoor living spaces have been very popular this summer as people are spending more time at home. Seeing the best that Manitoba’s renovation industry has to offer by watching the MHBA’s Renovation Awards is a great way to get inspired to see what upgrades you may want to make to your home.

Under the current circumstances, it is extremely important to know that you are dealing with a professional renovation contractor. If you’re considering a renovation, look to the standards and practices of a professional RenoMark renovator. MHBA renovators follow the highest professional standards in Canada. The Code of Ethics and tips on what to look for when hiring a renovator can be found at the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association website at www.homebuilders.mb.ca. You can find great tips, videos and a full listing of our renovator members by visiting and clicking the “Renovating your home?” button.
