The first quarter of 2025 has been nothing short of exciting for the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association and our valued members! From high-profile events to educational seminars and new promotional opportunities, Q1 set a powerful tone for the year ahead.
Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from January to March (2025)
From March 1–23, the Spring Parade of Homes welcomed close to 33K attendees, solidifying its status as Canada’s premier home showcase. This spring’s event featured 137 stunning homes by 30 MHBA builders across 21 communities offering a diverse array of designs and options for attendees.

The 2025 Renovation Awards will showcase 72 projects by 15 exceptional MHBA RenoMark Renovators. Renovator members participating in the awards program will enjoy various promotional benefits, including being featured in Home Décor & Renovations Magazine’s April/May and June/July issues, showcasing their work at MHBA’s “Ask a Renovator” booth at two consumer shows, and receiving spotlight on MHBA’s website and social media platforms.

Industry Nights – 1928 Eatery & Pub (January 28th) & Trans Canada Brewing Co. (March 18th)
The MHBA kicked off 2025 with two successful Industry Nights, held at 1928 Eatery & Pub (January 28) and Trans Canada Brewing Co. (March 18). These casual, after-hours gatherings gave members the perfect chance to unwind, reconnect with industry peers, and make new connections in a relaxed setting. With strong attendance and great energy at both events, our Industry Nights are proving to be a must-attend series for MHBA members.

Curling FUNspiel (March 7th)
The MHBA’s Annual Curling FUNspiel brought the heat to the ice on March 6, 2025, at the Heather Curling Club! Members came together for a fantastic day filled with camaraderie, laughter, and some friendly competition. While teams competed for the coveted Tournament Champion title, the spirit of fun was alive and well with additional awards for Best Team Spirit, Best Costume, Rookie of the Year, and Most Valuable Player.
This year’s FUNspiel was a sold-out success, with 32 teams—our largest turnout in years!

Unlocking Sales Success: Fundamentals and Advanced Strategies for New Home Sales (February 12th and 13th)
The two-day workshop provided valuable insights into both sales and construction strategies. Day 1 focused on a Sales Refresher, covering customer engagement, behavioral styles, and time management to help participants make a strong first impression and stay motivated throughout the year. Day 2 advanced these skills with topics like emotional intelligence, creating urgency, and closing deals, while also exploring strategies for building stronger client relationships in a competitive market.
AI In Homebuilding: Where It Is and Where It’s Going (March 27th)
Presented by David Lynch (OpenHouse.ai), this virtual session explored the role of AI in the homebuilding industry—covering predictive tools, generative design, automation, and future applications.

Innovative Building Technologies: From Concept to Compliance in the Era of Net-Zero Construction (April 9th and 10th)
This two-day workshop will explore emerging building science, code compliance, and design strategies essential for net-zero construction. Attendees will gain insights into energy-efficient building envelopes, detailing complex areas such as flat roofs, cantilevers, and zero-lot lines, as well as the use of high-performance insulation and innovative materials. The session will also emphasize system integration to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
