Under normal circumstances more than 700 people would have gathered last night to celebrate and recognize the winning entries in this year’s Fall Parade of Homes at the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association’s annual gala.

We all understand that the current situation made that impossible this year. The MHBA had to take a different approach to celebrate this year’s Parade of Homes Award winners. This year, the Parade of Homes Awards went virtual. And you can attend. You can watch our first ever Parade of Homes virtual gala event on the MHBA Youtube channel and see which amazing show homes are this year’s winning entries.

This year, there were 24 separate categories in the Fall Parade of Homes and gold, silver or bronze awards were given out to the homes deemed the best in each category by our volunteer judges. The Parade award winners were determined by a Parade judging panels that reviewed the electronic submissions from each entrant. Once again, the judging was extremely close in all of the categories. This is not surprising when you consider that our volunteer judges are faced with choosing a winner from an incredible selection of the best designed, best built and best displayed new homes in Canada.

Three categories of awards were for condominiums. These included bungalows and apartment style condos. The 21 remaining categories were for single family detached homes. These distinct categories are based on style (townhouse, bungalow and two-storey) and price range.

The MHBA is very proud of the hard work our builder and developer members undertook this year to ensure we would be ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Fall Parade of Homes under incredibility challenging circumstances. The safety precautions that MHBA builders implemented at their Parade show homes to make visiting as safe as possible gave visitors confidence and were embraced by those who attended this year’s Parade. We thank everyone who attended this year’s Parade of Homes for their cooperation and their patience.
