The MHBA Housing Forum and Trade Show is quickly upon us!

Scheduled for November 6th & 7th, this info packed event is going to be better than ever!

Join us for our first ever “Developer Panel” on November 6th, where a we will feature three developers as well as Brayden Smith (City of Winnipeg) to discuss the next phase of the OurWinnipeg review, development issues, and what the next 12-18 months will look like in terms of land development within the City. There will be a cocktail reception and our exhibitor area will be open! Don’t miss out on this great evening!

November 7th is a full day consisting of our Annual General Meeting of Members, Breakout Sessions, Exhibitor Breaks and Main Stage Presentations. We are excited to feature Corey Poirier as our Keynote Speaker this year!

Marketing – Perspectives on Home Buyer Preferences (Tim Bailey, Avid Ratings Canada) 
Want to know what homebuyers are looking for in a new home? What marketing resources they use in their new home search? What features they are willing to trade-off to get what they want? And what they are willing to pay for? Each year CHBA, in partnership with Avid Ratings Canada, conducts the largest homebuyer preference survey in Canada. This presentation will explore the most recent survey results from the 2018 CHBA Homebuyer Preference Study. If you’re looking for powerful insight into today’s new home buyer market, then the research data to be presented in this session is sure to be of interest.

Workplace Wellness – Leveraging Employee Engagement (Leanne Douglas, MNP)
The construction sector, like many other sectors in Canada, is faced with growing labour shortages. Discover the benefits of employee engagement in attracting and retaining staff and positively impacting your organization’s bottom line by investing in your employees. During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to assess where your organization might be facing engagement challenges, and to explore ways of actively engaging your workers today and for the long term.

Perfect for sub-trades! This session will include how to complete hazard assessments in addition to all the requirements to be a safe contractor.
