The Manitoba Home Builders’ Association will be celebrating the best residential renovation projects this Thursday with the premier of the 2021 Virtual RenoMark Renovation Awards. These annual awards showcase the best renovation projects in Manitoba over the past year. While the MHBA traditionally honours our award-winning renovator members at our annual Renovation Awards reception, this year we are once again hosting our awards via a virtual celebration available for viewing on our YouTube channel starting June 3. The best part is you’re invited to attend!

This year, entries were featured in seven different award categories: Additions, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Exteriors, Whole House, Outdoor Structure, and Basement.

Each project nominated for the RenoMark Renovation Awards is a stunning display of what professional renovators can do when updating and upgrading your home. 72 different projects by 16 outstanding MHBA RenoMark renovators were nominated. Each entry consisted of before and after photos, blueprints and drawings, a detailed description of the work done, design details and any additional information that might contribute to this comprehensive package.

Judging was done by a panel of judges who reviewed every entry in every category. All of this year’s nominated projects are on display on the MHBA website (homebuilders.mb.ca) and on our social media channels.

Everybody has been spending more time at home over the past year. As we do, many are taking this as a great time to get that home renovation project underway. Whether it’s something that they have been longing to improve in their kitchen or a bathroom that needs updating, Manitobans have been investing into their homes during the pandemic. Many of us love our neighbourhood and love our house, but we may have also discovered we need change. Maybe the colours and styles from 10 years ago just don‘t cut it today. Or you feel traffic flow and entertaining guests is encumbered by walls and rooms and it’s time to open things up. Maybe there’s a reason no one goes down into the basement anymore. Or maybe you need more room for a growing family. An addition is like creating a fresh living space and giving your family a whole new lifestyle — without the hassles associated with moving.

Under the current circumstances, it is extremely important to know you are dealing with a professional renovation contractor. If you’re considering a renovation, look to the standards and practices of a professional RenoMark renovator. MHBA renovators follow the highest professional standards in Canada. The code of ethics and tips on what to look for when hiring a renovator can be found on our website. You can find great tips, videos and a full listing of our renovator members by visiting our website.

When undertaking a major renovation, always insist on the quality, professionalism and knowledge that come with a RenoMark renovator.
