On October 12, the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association held its annual Fall Parade of Homes Gala at the RBC Winnipeg Convention Centre. More than 700 people attended and helped celebrate and recognize winning entries in the Fall Parade of Homes.

Joe Aiello was once again a tremendous MC for the evening — his wit and genuine enthusiasm for our sector make him the perfect host for our annual fall gala.

This year, there were 34 separate categories in the Fall Parade of Homes — gold, silver or bronze awards were given out to the homes deemed the best in each category by our volunteer judges. Winners were determined by a mix of judging panels that reviewed electronic submissions from each entrant and judging panels that visited each of the eligible homes. Once again, the judging was extremely close in all of the categories. This is not surprising when you consider our volunteer judges are faced with choosing a winner from an incredible selection of the best-designed, best-built and best-displayed new homes in Canada.

The first three categories of awards were for condominiums. These included bungalows and apartment-style condos. The 31 remaining categories were for single-family detached homes. These distinct categories are based on style (townhouse, bungalow and two-storey) and price range.

A key message of the evening was association membership. The strength of the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association comes from members’ support and engagement. MHBA members are the leaders and community builders in our province’s residential construction sector. Those in attendance were encouraged to hire and buy from other MHBA members and promote membership to those who have displayed excellence in the industry.

Remember, the show homes that were featured in the parade and honoured at the gala are still open for viewing even after the Parade of Homes has concluded. Visit the MHBA website for the contact information for your favourite award winner.
