A Message from the CEO: Lanny McInnes

May 12th was “Manitoba Day”, the anniversary of Manitoba becoming a province and entering Confederation in 1870.  It was also a very special day for the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association.

The MHBA received two 2022 CHBA Association Leadership Awards during the CHBA Spring Meetings in Ottawa.  The MHBA was named the 2022 HBA of the Year, an award that “recognizes overall excellence by an HBA during 2021 in delivering a strong and positive voice for the housing industry, and in supporting the business success of members and their ability to provide affordability, quality and choice in housing for consumers”.

As well, I was very proud to receive the 2022 Executive Officer of the Year award, which “recognizes an Executive Officer who has demonstrated excellence as the chief staff officer of an HBA, and who has effectively worked with volunteer leaders to create a strong and positive voice for the housing industry and led the HBA to effectively support the business success of members. The nominee will have shown support for national-level activities through CHBA’s Executive Officers’ Council.”

I would like to congratulate our staff team – Cyrille, Amanda, & Miriagh – on being recognized by their colleagues across Canada for the tremendous work they have done over the past year on behalf of our association!

I would also like to thank and congratulate our tremendous volunteers – our Board members, Committee members, our partners, our sponsors, and our members – for their incredible dedication and support of the MHBA.  An association is only as strong as its volunteers and its members, and the strength of the MHBA is truly a reflection of that.  Our volunteers drive the work that our association does on behalf of our industry, and they dedicate their time and effort to making our industry stronger.  Receiving these awards is recognition of the commitment made by both our volunteer leaders and our amazing staff team to our association and our industry.

Thank you once again for your continued support of the MHBA.  Our goal, each and every day, is to help make our industry stronger and to help make your business better.

Sincerely,

Lanny McInnes
MHBA President & CEO
