ABOUT MHBA
The MHBA is a non-profit trade association whose mandate is to provide our members, the public and all levels of government with ongoing education and information about the housing industry in our province. The MHBA does this by making sure that our members are kept up-to date on the latest developments in building technology and government regulations, enabling them to provide the public with quality service and construction.
Our association is comprised of home builders, land developers, renovators, manufacturers, suppliers, designers, architects, engineers, financial institutions, and mortgage companies, lawyers, and public utilities who each contribute to the on-going operation and success of the housing industry in Manitoba.
All builder members of the MHBA must be a members of “Third Party Home Warranty Program” and are subject to a “Code of Ethics” and a “Code for Disciplinary Action” as established for the industry by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, with which the MHBA is an affiliated member.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the MHBA to be the voice of the residential construction industry in Manitoba; to provide a forum for the ongoing education of the membership with respect to technology and business practices; to achieve an environment in which the membership can operate successfully; and to promote affordability and choice in housing for all Manitobans.
Organization
The MHBA is comprised of 12 Directors elected for a two year term. The five-person Executive Committee consists of the Chairperson of the Board, Past Chair, 1st Vice Chairperson, 2nd Vice Chairperson, and the Secretary Treasurer. The board meets on a monthly basis and reviews reports submitted by the Chair of the various committees.
