Celebrating 80 Years!

80 YEARS SUCCESS: MANITOBA HOME BUILDERS' ASSOCIATION

In 1937, six visionaries started a legacy. Frank Lount, Henry Borger, Walter Senicki, Henry Pehrson, Frank Mager and A. W. Hagg gathered around the table and formally created what is now known as the Manitoba Home Builders Association . Over the years, we have changed our name, changed our logo, changed our location and changed our membership but the mission and purpose remain the same.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Manitoba Home Builders Association. 80 years! That makes us the oldest provincial home builders association in Canada. We were even established before the Canadian Home Builders Association.

The MHBA always has been and always will be the voice of the residential construction industry in Manitoba. It will always provide a forum for ongoing education for its members. It will always endeavour to create an environment in which our members can operate their businesses successfully. We will always promote affordability and choice in housing for all Manitobans.

QUALICO

Qualico Communities has been shaping the way neighbourhoods in and around Winnipeg grow for almost half a century. Building on decades of knowledge in community development, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways of doing things and are keen to work with our partners to build vibrant, sustainable communities where people don’t just live, but where they thrive.

Qualico Communities has created many notable Winnipeg neighbourhoods. Beginning in the 1970s with All Seasons Estates in East Kildonan, Forrest Park in Charleswood, Waverley Heights in south Winnipeg, and River Park South in St. Vital.

Our current projects range from bare land condominium and urban infill projects to single family and complete communities with multi-family, mixed-use commercial and single family homes. We are actively developing neighbourhoods in and around the city with communities including Sage Creek and RidgeWood West in Winnipeg, Pritchard Farm Southlands Village in East St. Paul, Oak Bluff West in the RM of Macdonald, and Taylor Farm in Headingley.
