Aging in Place
The Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) program targets home builders and renovators interested in addressing the needs of the aging population. It teaches the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to home modifications for older and maturing adults for aging-in-place.
The CAPS designation is awarded to the individual who successfully completes the three modules in the program. The three modules are:
- Business Management for Building Professionals
- Working with and Marketing to Older Adults
- Home Modifications
CAPS designates are required to renew their certification annually to ensure an ongoing commitment to continuing education. A renewal fee must be paid and are required to complete six credits of continuing education every three years.
Homeowners looking to age-in-place can rest assured knowing their home was built or renovated with care by trained professionals with their best interest in mind.
